The second/eastbound carriageway of the new A45 opens to traffic on Monday 12 August 2013

The second/eastbound carriageway of the new section of the A45 Coventry Road that has
been built between the Clock roundabout and the Damson Parkway junction adjacent to 
Birmingham Airport and Junction 6 of the M42 opened to traffic on Monday 12 August 2013....

.... while work continues on the removal of the carriageways of the old A45 and
the completion of the new slip road to Birmingham Airport at the Clock roundabout

.... both carriageways and all four lanes of the new A45 are now in use at peak times
- Birmingham Airport's new ATC Tower can be seen to the right of the above image

.... and this is the view of the new route of the A45 Coventry Road and the site of
Birmingham Airport's Runway Extension that opens in 2014 from the top of the tower
